Upcoming Events at the Library

We are proud to announce that we are hosting some great new programs at the library!
This past Monday was our first Knitting Circle. The library has needles to loan, yarn to use and an expert on hand to help get you started. Knitting Circle will continue on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from 6pm-7pm.

Canaan resident Bill Spaulding has offered to host a program on the history of the American Lumberjack. We have been highlighting Bill’s amazing hand-carved diorama of a logging camp and I am sure that his eye for detail is going to continue on into this presentation. Kit Hewes, also from Canaan, will be on hand to talk about what it was like to grow up in a logging camp. Join us on Saturday, October 25th from 1:00pm-3:00pm for this interesting program hosted by your neighbors!

The library has received a grant from the NH Humanities Council to host Marina Forbes for a presentation on Russian arts and culture. Marina will be discussing the history of art in Russia and focusing on Russian Nesting Dolls. Marina will join us on Monday, November 17, at 7:00pm.

The library is still offering our favorites, The Basement Bookies and Story Hour, but we hope the addition of these new programs and groups will give you the opportunity to stay a little closer to home this fall and winter and still enjoy some great educational and cultural events.
If you have an idea for a program or event, give the library a call or stop by and talk to one of us.
