Childrens Literacy Foundation Grant

The library has recieved a grant of children’s books from CLiF, The Childrens’ Literacy Foundation. Today, Duncan McDougal presented the books to the fourth grade students at the elementary school. Duncan is a wonderful storyteller and had a captivated audience as he told about studying penguins in Antartica and Tarantulas in French New Guinea. Just when the students could believe no more he revealed that he had not travelled to these exotic locations by plane, boat, train or car but by book!
Duncan shared some of the new books with the students and finished the presentation by reading Tale of a Tail by Judit Z. Bodnar — a must read about a fox who thinks he can get out of sharing his dinner with a bear.
Come down to the library and check out the 106 new picture books, chapter books, graphic novels and audio books that the has helped us add to our collection — and just in time for the Summer Reading Program too (more about that, later.)
List of new CLiF books!
