Build a Better World

Hi Families!

Your children are invited to participate in Canaan Town Library’s Summer Reading Program and attend the fun events we are planning. This summer’s theme, Build A Better World! explores all things construction and engineering with a look towards creative play and reading with a getting our hands dirty approach.  All programs are free and open to all children, preschool through 5th grade.

Sign up begins June 26th!

This annual program is designed to encourage reading for pleasure in a relaxed environment.  In addition to the basic reading program, our Super Saturday activities are:

 

 

July  1: 9:30 am:  Story time with Miss Amy, Start the summer off right!

 

 

 

July 8: 10:00 am: Comics Workshop with Marek Bennett*  Join NH teaching artist Marek Bennett to learn how cartoonists build entire worlds and universes out of the simplest possible materials!  Learn the skills necessary to continue creating comics all Summer long.  No experience required — everyone can draw comics!  More information at www.MarekBennett.com/build

 

 

 

July 15: 10:00 am (Session 1) &  12:00 pm (Session 2): Make your own Play Dough

 

 

 

July 21: 6 pm — 7:30 pm: Annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover (Only stuffed animals stay overnight)

 

 

 

 

 

 

July 22: 1 pm — 2 pm: Ice Cream Social

 

 

 

 

July 29: 10 am — 12 pm : Lego Club
