Covered Bridges of New England Presentation

Saturday

November 10

1:00 pm

Join us for a presentation of photographs of New England’s most treasured covered bridges by renowned photographer, Jeffrey E. Blackman.

When Jeffrey Blackman set out to capture New England’s covered bridges on film, his goal was to create not just a pretty, postcard-perfect picture but to tell a story about each bridge’s history and usage throughout the years.  He carefully studied each bridge from many angles before shooting, and took pains to show the environment surrounding each bridge in its photo.

Jeffrey E. Blackman’s photography has been featured in many high-profile publications including Life, Newsweek, National Geographic Traveler, American Preservation, and Polo Magazine, among others.  He has photographed the ice festival in Sapporo, Japan; the marble quarries of Pietrasanta, Italy; Formula One in Monaco; and NASCAR races and PGA tournaments throughout the US.  He is also the author of Out of Gas, End Zone (an extensive photo essay about the NFL), and Barns of New England.  He lives on a mountaintop near Wilmot, NH.
